Manolo Blahnik ha vuelto esta temporada a su idea del ‘manolo for men’. Lo hace después de unas cuantas colecciones sin modelos masculinos, que parece le aburren. Le aburre en realidad el cordón y la zapatilla que él llama «anónima» (entiéndase anodina), de ahí que sus creaciones lleven siempre nombre propio. Su preferencia (confiesa tener más de 30 pares en todos los colores) son las manoletinas o toreras; y, en general, el estilo goyesco o georgiano, según nacionalidad. Si en el zapato de mujer aprecia el detalle y la sofisticación, en el masculino, la comodidad; asuntos tantas veces reñidos y en los que el hombre lleva las de ganar. Para este invierno, en concreto, nos trae los mocasines clásicos George; los Eric, con borla; el botín Chelsea y el clásico Oxford de ante, en vivos colores (en la foto, en azul). Pero los favoritos de 2013, a su imagen y semejanza, son el ‘slipper’ de noche Mario, en varias configuraciones, y las ‘matador pumps’ con lazo de ‘gross grain’ en el frente y de nombre, Toro, así como los charoles bicolor con suela de goma (estos últimos, bautizados Manolo).
